OH HAPPY DAY TAG

Now for my last tag I was inspired by this wonderful vintage image by Gecko Galz. I love beautiful art and for alot of my designs I let the art speak to me!

I started with another large chip board tag and using Glimmer Mist in Blue Night and Money Bags spray your tag and let it dry. Once it is dry take your gold acrylic paint and distress the edges using a bristle paint brush. Next I printed a copy of the skating couple from Gecko Galz "Baby Its Cold Outside" and ink the edges with your distress ink in Vintage photo then adhere to center of Tag.
Next stamp your sentiment on a piece of card stock, I used a Fiskers stamp set and ink edges with your brown ink and color in Happy Day letters with pale blue marker. Next add your scallop trim from Prima marketing and lay over outer edge with brown stripe ribbon from May Arts. Layer on sentiment square at the bottom of the tag along with a wooden snowflake. Do the same trim at the top of tag then add two green bows on either side.
Finish by adding more of your brown stripe ribbon through hole.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

IT'S THE SIMPLE THINGS TAG

For my next tag I was inspired by some silver trim I found at one of my outings at Antique weekend and I felt like It needed to be a classy chic looking tag.

I started with another large chip board tag and covered with glitter card stock by Recollections and inked the edges with Distress ink in Festive Berries. Next I printed the mod girl image from Gecko Galz "Christmas ladies" collage sheet and glued it to the center of the tag. Next Using double side adhesive tape above the photo and bellow the image I adhered my sequin trim. On the bottom trim I placed a silver mini bow that I received on a small box. Then using the red stamp and my Fiskers sentiment stamp set I stamped the sentiment on card stock and cut it out and inked the edges with Vintage photo destress ink and place in the upper corner of the tag. Taking a silver Viva Pearl Pen I added pearls along the side of the image and on some of the points of the starburst design.
Finish with a piece of black ribbon through the hole.

These tags make wonderful Christmas ornaments if you design both the front and back.
Have a happy Christmas

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL TAG

My next tag was inspired by a little red bird I saw the other day in a tree outside my house, this time of the year the male cardinal is at his brightest color red.

For this tag I started with another chip board tag and using Distress ink in Festive Berries I inked the tag. Then I took bright gold acrylic paint and using a bristled paint brush I stippled the top of the tag then let it dry completely.
Next I printed the cardinal image from Gecko Galz "Winters Garden" and place in the center of a gold foil doillie and adhere to the center of the tag. then I placed 3 fabric flowers by paper studio along the bottom of the image. next adhere some red ribbon along the bottom of the tag and stamp your sentiment (I used Fiskers sentiment stamps) and ink with your festive Berries ink and Vintage photo distress ink. Next add a red bow by paper studios and finish by tying a second piece of ribbon through the hole.

A little touch of paint is the perfect way to add a little texture to a project!

FROSTY WINTERS DAY TAG

So my tag today was inspired by a snowy day we had a few weeks ago. As alot of you may know Houston Texas does not get snow often and for us to have a day with beautiful snow on the ground it is a pure miracle. So I got up at 6 am that day and went out into my back yard and was greeted with a white winter wonderland, so when I saw this image it reminded me of that day.

So for this Tag I started with one of my large chip board tags and using Folk Arts Milk Paint I brushed on paint leaving streaks so it is reminiscent of Birch tree's. I then got my image from Gecko Galz "Let it Snow" collage set and resized it to 5" and cut it out and adhere to the front of the tag. I then stamped my sentiment with my black ink and a stamp from Canvas Corp. Next using clear Stickles I added my icy border around the picture as well as on the sentiment and tree branches and let dry completely. To finish I added white polka dot organza ribbon as my tie.

Have fun creating winter inspired pieced white chalk paint is the perfect look for rustic designs.

MAGICAL WINTER WONDERLAND TAG

Now this tag I fell in love with the art work and it inspired me to create a magical winter card!

So again I started with the large chip board tag and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist in Dark Vintage Green then inked the edges with Distress ink in Vintage photo. Once it has dried all the way stamp with black ink your favorite sentiment. Next I took this beautiful image from Gecko galz "Let It Snow" Jeewel it and size to 4x4 then cut out and ink edges with blue ink.
Layer onto tag using Scotch quick dry adhesive.
At the top of image place clear bling and at the bottom I adhered some antique lace from my collection and on the drop down pieces I added more bling. Next I added some wooden snow flakes that have silver paper tops from Recollections. And to finish the tage I took  cream color silk bias ribbon and added glimmer mist in Jack Frost (Blue) and Dark Vintage Green to create a tie dye look.

So let a beautiful image inspire you to create something special for someone else!

DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW TAG

My little tag today is a little whimsical because I feel Christmas should be a wee bit whimsical.

I started again with one of my Large chip board tags from  Recollections (they are at Michaels) but this time I sprayed the tag with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist it is a combination of Dragonfly and Jack Frost colors, this product dries pretty fast and leaves a beautiful shimmer to it.
Next I found the cute little snowman design on Gecko Galz Let it snow jewel it set and enlarged to 5" tall. I cut it out and inked the edges with my Ranger Distress ink in "Faded Jeans" color then adhered to tag front using Scotch quick dry adhesive. Using black ink I stamped my sentiment in the lower right corner of the image. Next I took my Viva Pearl pen in white and added pearls around the outer edge of the image. Next I added clear stickles to the snow on the trees to give a bit of shimmer.
I found in my travles this amazing ribbon with Jingle bells already attached by Jingles & Joy and on the bottom back of my tag adhered the ribbon just so the bells are showing. Now for the really fun addition I recieved a package last year with this fun reindeer tag so I kept it and now am including it on my tag, way to recycle! then added a paper studio decorative bow to his neck. To finish I added a piece of teal ribbon my awesome friend Jan Stevens gave me and wa la another tag ready to decorate with!

Remember recycling old Christmas wrappings are a great way to create tags, cards and ornaments!

CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS TAG

So as we near Christmas I thought it might be fun to share a few tags with all my followers that might inspire you all to create your own tags for friends and loved ones.
I always like to make my gifts a little special by creating hand made tags for all my friends and with a good deal of them they then take them and use them as ornaments for their tree. So here is the first one.

I started out with a Large chip board tag from Recollections and then cut a piece of gold scripted vellum to cover the top and inked with Distress inks in Vintage Photo Color. Using glossy accents I glued to top of tag and let dry.
Next I found an amazing image from Gecko Galz "Let it Snow Jewels" enlarged it to 5" and cut it out then on the back adhered two metal wings that I found in the Christmas area of Hobby Lobby. Next I adhered the image to the center of the tag.
Using a clear stamp that reads "Blessed" from Canvas Corp I stamped my sentiment on the bottom of the image using black ink.
Next I adhered two rustic stars on each bottom corners I got the stars from Hobby Lobby and originally they were on wire and I pulled them free of the wire.
Next I added clear stickles to the image to give it some shimmer and to finish tied a piece of ribbon from my stash (this is a great time to use ribbon leftovers because you dont need that much)

And that is my tag of the day. Have fun creating your own tags!
